Amy Wilks Sausaman, MS, LPC, NCC

Meet Amy

Amy earned her Masters of Science in Counseling from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2020. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has  experience working with adolescents, college students, young adults, student-athletes and adults. Her clinical interests and experience include anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, body image, women's issues, life transitions, adjustment, health and wellness and spirituality.

As a counselor, Amy values authenticity, openness, acceptance, empathy and growth through exploration. These core values as a counselor are incorporated and implemented through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, nervous system regulation techniques, the Health and Wellness Counseling Approach and the use of mindfulness skills. These models allow Amy to assist clients in developing awareness and acceptance of their whole self. It is important to her to create a welcoming and safe environment that allows clients to explore, grow, and progress towards their therapeutic goals while identifying the techniques and skills that work best for them.

Amy is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is a trained interventionist for the Safe and Sound Protocol.
