Kim Bowman, M.Ed, LPC

Meet Kim

AKim obtained her Masters of Education in Counseling from Stephens College in 2012 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She previously worked as a Community Support Specialist in mental health agencies providing a wide variety of services to adult clients with severe and persistent mental illness for 8 years. She has experience providing individual and group therapy using the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model. She is also trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and is a HeartMath Certified Clinician. She is also trained to provide Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), an auditory intervention that is geared towards regulating the nervous system. Kim is finishing up the process to become certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, an evidence based treatment for trauma, and has been providing EMDR for nearly 3 years.

Kim’s belief is that her clients have a great deal of knowledge about themselves. Her goal as a therapist is to help you better understand your symptoms and their underlying causes. She also teaches clients coping skills to help them manage or reduce daily symptoms that may be impacting their functioning. She works with adults and adolescents to address trauma, emotional dysregulation, depression, anxiety, communication problems, boundary issues, stress management, mindfulness and self-esteem issues.
