Lorena Hardman, M.Ed, LPC
Meet Lorena
Lorena is a trauma-informed clinician who believes that clients are resilient individuals capable of leading their own healing journeys. Their role is to support and empower clients as they navigate the path to growth and recovery.
With five years of experience in residential treatment prior to earning a master’s degree in counseling at Stephens College, Lorena brings a deep understanding of trauma and mental health. They are trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for treating OCD and anxiety, integrating trauma-informed care into this work. This includes conducting thorough assessments to distinguish between OCD-driven thoughts, trauma-related thoughts, and rational thoughts, ensuring that treatment is compassionate and tailored to the client’s unique needs.
Lorena works with both children and adults, incorporating evidence-based trauma treatments such as EMDR and nervous system-focused approaches into their practice, alongside other therapeutic techniques tailored to each client’s needs. They work with children utilizing play therapy and a trauma-oriented lens, while integrating families into the process with concepts from Theraplay.
Committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for all clients, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, Lorena actively involves parents in their child’s treatment, creating a supportive foundation for healing and long-term success.
