Brandon Cooper
Meet Brandon
Cooper grew up in Arizona before moving to Missouri in 2013. He is currently enrolled as a master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Stephens College. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University – Idaho. His areas of interests include anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, addiction, and relationship difficulties. He works with adolescents, college students, and adults.
Cooper works to establish a relationship of understanding and support as clients seek to make changes in their life. He approaches clients with unconditional positive regard and compassion. Cooper believes that each person is the expert of their own needs and works to establish a collaborative relationship with each client to assist them in creating a more balanced and healthy life. He uses a client-centered approach grounded in cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy. Through his cognitive-behavioral therapy framework, he works with clients to actively reframe thoughts and replace unhelpful thoughts with more helpful ones. He works to create a safe space to process emotions and develop coping skills.
