Carli Wilson
Meet Carli
Carli grew up on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks before settling on her family’s ranch just north of Columbia. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology with minors in psychology and English literature. She is currently in her final year of studying at Stephen’s College to become a licensed professional counselor.
Carli loves working with women and is passionate about women’s health issues. It was her time participating in and leading pregnancy support groups that lead her to pursue a degree in counseling. She has a special interest in perinatal counseling and the mind/body connection throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Carli’s approach is client centered and focuses on helping individuals explore their emotions, gain insight into their behaviors, and develop more meaningful connections with themselves and others. She strives to create a supportive and dynamic environment where individuals can explore their authentic selves and achieve greater emotional regulation, integration, and self-acceptance. With a background in sociology she has a deep understanding of social dynamics and the impact of societal factors on individual wellbeing. She knows that societal expectations and social roles inform our self-perception and behavior. Carli strives to help clients understand how their social context impacts their mental health, and how building awareness and changing behaviors can lead to more authentic and meaningful interactions with others.
Carli has a special interest in perinatal counseling, trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and identity development. She enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and couples.
